Bruce Braley - Justin, my name is Bruce Braley and I represent the First District of Iowa in Congress. I’m headed to Iwo Jima this week with the Greatest Generation Foundation and 12 WWII veterans who are returning after 67 years. My Dad, Byard Braley, landed on Iwo Jima the day both flags were raised on Mt. Suribach. He served in the Corps Artillery. His good friend from my home town of Brooklyn, Iowa, Harold Keller, was the second Marine on the summit of Mt. Suribachi and slept under the flag the night they raised it. One of my cousins knew about my trip and sent me a link to your “Soldiers Deck of Cards” video, which brought tears to my eyes. I plan to share it with the Iwo Jima veterans when we are on Guam this week. Thank you for this thoughtful and respectful tribute to my Dad and his buddies who served on Iwo.

justinflom - Thanks for the note!

I’ve just released the Mona Lisa and the Brain versions of Card Artistry so far. http://tinyurl.com/6qgb7yf
We’re working on a “museum” version with a signed selection for the next release. Currently, we don’t have plans to release the Veterans Tribute version because of how many would need to be ordered. It was a year-long process with the US Playing Card Company to print the ones we’re selling now!

All that being said, I take no ownership of the Soldier’s Deck of Cards story so please feel free to perform it if you like. It’s the same method as my other Card Artistry.

Thanks again,

Justin

I had the benefit of reading this story several times, and read it through each time awaiting the feeling of reassurance that God was there with me and my shipmates, and soldiers across the earth. Never, have I seen such a renound tribute to the soldiers of the past put in such a humbling story. 250,000 will be but a seed in the fruit of thanks you will harvest with this video. I look forward to seeing your show, if you’re ever in the Cincinnati area. Please stop by the Cincinnati VA hospital. I had volunteered there and met history walking and rolling in the hallways. Jean - I did watch the video of the Deck of Cards, it was a great idea of Justin’s, to remind People of what are Soldiers are doing for everyone today, in order to save our freedom and our lives.
I remember My Mum telling Me about the Deck of Cards, even though it was before My time.
The orginal version was done by Wink Martindale back in the 1950′s, and You can download this for about 79p from I-tunes. It would be nice if I-tunes were to donate the money from the sale of this record to go towards the Soldiers Funds. i.e. Help for Hero’s
We All Must Carry On Supporting Our Solders, If It Wasn’t For Them Some Of Us wouldn’t Be Here Today.

KERRY MAINES - No matter how many times I hear this story It’s always listened to or heard as new and this one will go into my ” KEEPER ” file.

Thank you and God bless you always, Kerry

June 24, 2012 - 10:44 am

justinflom - I love the story. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks!

Beverly - I’ve read this before but watching it played out and what you did at the end was awesome. It showed me a more perspective way of looking at it as to just reading it. My husband served in the Army for 22 years. My cousin’s sons also served, one in the Army one in the Marines. It’s not easy what the soldiers have to go through and deal with. I think this is a very beautiful tribute to show that soldiers do have faith and support. :)

Dan Yutrzenka - Justin,

August 12, 2012 - 6:11 pm

Carlene Buccola - Justin, found your video to be soft and inspirational, and a real tribute to our military heros. My son is a US Marine, my husband is an Air Force veteran, my son-in-law was an Air Force reservist, and my Uncle Carl was shot down from his plane in WWII and his body was never found. But, you don’t have to have a military family such as mine to appreciate all those who gave the unending sacrifice for our freedom. Thank you and keep up the good work. Yes, I am Carlene

August 15, 2012 - 5:37 pm

justinflom - Carlene!

Amazing stories. Thank you so much for writing. It really means a lot that the video touched you. It was made for that purpose and to say thanks for your family’s service. God bless and thank YOU!

Mike - That was really good. I am glad to see how a deck of playing card, a favorite thing that we as Americans and military members use for fun, used for connecting God,our creator, and with man, the creation, and our time spent on the earth. That was really good.

Thank you young man!

Jennifer F. - Justin,
I am still wiping away the tears as I write this…our son just deployed. He is a double major college graduate who chose to be Army Strong. We also have a nephew who is a marine and currently deployed. We could not be more proud of them and truly appreciate your tribute to all our brave military. Where would our country be if no one ever felt called to serve? God Bless You and God Bless America!!!

September 16, 2012 - 11:40 am

justinflom - Jennifer! Thank you so much for your kind words. I will pray for your son and nephew. They sound like great men. You should be proud!

Thank you,

David
